I am stuck at home 8-10 hours a day since a year, and I was not motivated enough to go do some fitness after that. This is a perfect way to keep yourself active while working, or sitting on calls... It is a great product, built like a tank, and fast enough. I use it typically at 1.3/1.4 mph, no need to go over that otherwise you end up sweating and mistyping a lot!! This is so wide so you completely forget it is there as well!
I needed a second more active desk for my meetings as the pounds are piling up with the pandemic and working from home. I am so happy I got the best desk treadmill I could find. It is wide, short, sturdy and very very very quiet. The app works very well. Shipping from the US to Canada was a breeze. No hidden charges. I am doing 15000+ steps a day already. People first complained about me making them dizzy on Zoom when I first started. Soon, that turned to the envy of my perseverance. So far, great!
I liked this treadmill over other brands because it was wider and shorter than the others. I had a limited space to put mine and this works perfectly.
I have only had the treadmill and desk around a week or so, but am already loving it. Like many others, I went from a normal schedule to a telework one. When in the office I was always running around and staying on my feet. With telework I was in a chair 8 hours a day for the most part. I would average 2-4k steps a day. And felt so sluggish after work I didnt even feel up to getting any exercise.
With the unsit, I start walking around 630am and stop walking at 3pm, with an hour break for lunch in the middle. I am averaging over 15k steps a day, using the 1.0-1.5 pace. I feel it in my legs at the end of the day, even though it is a slow walk. Slow and steady wins the race though. At 1.5mph, my heart rate stays in the mid-upper 90s, much better than the mid 70s while sitting.
The app isnt anything special. It sometimes stops counting my steps for no reason, and i have to reboot my phone in order to reconnect with it. It needs some polishing too. The icon on my screen is just a white dot, no logo or anything shows up. But it does sync with my fitbit so my steps transfer in. When walking and typing, my fitbit doesnt count my steps. But the unsit does, and later sends them over. Its not realtime sync, seems like maybe every hour or two it does. Again, its a bit buggy, but the support said they are actively working on the app. As long as the treadmill works though, I am happy. Which it does well. The app issues isnt enough to deduct a star in my book.
I have finally figured out the adjustment of the belt. Dont turn the allen key too much. Half a turn to a full turn of the left adjustment is plenty. Clockwise moves the belt right, counterclockwise to the left. My belt seems to like to be just off center to the left. Too far to the right and it starts making weird noises. So I just keep it a little to the left.
Thank you for a wonderful product. Hopefully I can drop the "covid 19 pounds" I have picked up while teleworking. Well worth the money.
I am thrilled with my new walking desk and treadmill. I haven't bothered to read the instruction manual yet (I should), but the features are so intuitive I hopped on the first day and use it every day. Sometimes I walk, sometimes I just stand, but it's increasing my daily steps and I'm easily reaching my goal of 10,000 daily by the time I go to bed. It's starting to feel unnatural to sit at my desk! The treadmill is quiet is quiet and smooth, and the desktop is large and very easily adjusts in height. Love it! Wish I'd had one of these 15 years ago.
I've always noticed that I do my best creative problem solving and original thinking when I am in motion, but until I got my Unsit treadmill desk, most of my best ideas got away from me. Now, I can remain in a flow state of optimum thinking as long as I want, and the back and neck problems I had from years of being a psychotherapist are a thing of the past. Unsit is a great product and it's a great company to do business with as well. I only wish I had found them sooner.
My journey began six years ago. I was experiencing lower back pain when sitting for long periods of time. I upgraded my chair to an adjustable Aeron chair. My new chair was very comfortable, but my posture remained poor and pain returned to my lower back.
Around the same time, I read several articles about how “sitting was killing us” so I decided to “save myself” and with a new standing desk. Wow! What a positive difference standing made on my lower back pain, but after a while, I started feeling aches, pains and stiffness in other places. Getting up out of my chair helped but standing turned out to be only part of the solution. I was committed to working on my feet, but I needed to add some movement as standing felt static and my legs ached.
Coincidentally, my brother’s company, ActivEd had produced a new program called WalkAbouts, an active learning platform for schools. WalkAbouts was further proof of the positive physical and mental benefits of moving compared to sitting and it validated my thoughts about moving while working.
So I started researching under desk treadmills. I wanted a treadmill that was built for slow speed walking. To fit with my desk I needed a treadmill wider than a traditional treadmill and much shorter. I thought I’d never find what I needed, until I came across the UnSit. In my first week with the WALK-1 Under Desk Treadmill I averaged 5 miles a day and I can already tell how movement solves the downsides to standing. I can do everything I normally would do at my desk while walking. The iOS app is a great motivator as it tracks your progress. Rob and the entire UnSit company have been awesome to work with!

I work at my computer all day long, and often get headaches from sitting the entire time (and of course staring at the screen). Since I've bought the UnSit treadmill, I no longer get headaches while I'm at work! Beyond that, I'm easily hitting my personal step goal for the day, and feel good about sitting down and relaxing in the evening, because I've been walking all day at work. It is the best purchase I've made this year.
I have been coveting the Unsit desk ever since I saw a demo a few years ago. This desk was unique in it's size, design, philosophy, and delivery. I was so impressed with the passion & science behind the product, the local family owned business, and the attentive customer service BEFORE I ever made the purchase. They were genuinely interested in my learning everything necessary about treadmill & standing desks and there was never any pressure -- just very helpful information. I learned that the disadvantages of sitting all day are FAR more than posture and lack of exercise. Read up on some of the latest science on the impact of long hours of sitting and it's quite compelling. The financial investment kept me hesitant at first, but now that I have finally purchased the desk and have been using it for 3 months I am SO HAPPY !! It is worth every penny and then some. It's rare when you feel that a single purchase has really changed your life. I'm in the software and RE sales business and I have spent decades and LONG hours in front of a computer. Now, what a difference in my work day, my mood, & my physical well being!!
There is a mild learning curve in the first couple weeks as I type and walk (conference calls and reading emails are easy, and fantastic to be walking and talking). I am notoriously uncoordinated, but very soon I had the hang of it and it's great. Gotta love a new motor skill to add to my list :) My Unsit desk is next to a large window so I get a nice perspective when I'm walking and talking, and but then I appreciate that I can get focused on my computer in an ergonomic way. I love that I can move the desk to different heights, and the treadmill moves at different speeds. The speeds are created for walking and working, so I set the dial a bit slower when writing/typing, and move it up when talking/reading. The UnSit App helps me track my mileage during the day. Wow. I hope that this kind of desk becomes the standard of the workplace.
This treadmill is great! My mood and energy level is improved compared to when I sat all day. The dimensions of this treadmill are much different than a traditional fitness treadmill and it makes total sense when I put it at my standing desk. People told me it would be too short but its not. I walk slow so I never get near the back of the treadmill. It would be difficult to do desk work walking any faster so it’s perfect. It might be a good idea to splurge for the adjustable height desk. I put it under a fixed standing desk and had to prop that up a bit because the treadmill made me 6” taller. The App is cool, a little finicky to re-connect after you have been away, but it works and its inspiring to see how many steps you’ve taken. Double check all of your desk dimensions before you buy to make sure it’s going to fit. The is MUCH better than standing all day.
